The first article is a meta-analysis showing a significant reduction in pain and inflammation-related symptoms of arthritis. The other great part is that this comes without the gastrointestinal and cardiovascular side effects associated with the usual treatment options (analgesics and NSAIDs). Turmeric has a long history of safe use as food and it has long been used as in anti-inflammatory treatment in traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine, so we are happy to see the research supports its continued use in this manner!

Additionally, a new trial published just last month showed the turmeric was not only useful for managing the joint pain associated with osteoarthritis, but that is was nearly 3 times more effective at this than acetaminophen!
